In Fuyuki City, a ritual takes place where magi, known as Masters, gather to fight for the Holy Grail. There are seven Masters, each summoning a Heroic Spirit called a Servant to battle for supremacy. Despite four previous Holy Grail Wars, no one has ever won. Ten years ago, during the Fourth Holy Grail War, Kiritsugu Emiya rescued Shirou Emiya from a devastating fire and later adopted him.

Shirou grew up with Kiritsugu and constantly begged to learn magecraft, despite Kiritsugu’s reluctance. Before Kiritsugu died, Shirou promised him he’d become a Hero of Justice. One quiet evening, a Servant attacks Shirou in the Holy Grail War. Just as he’s about to be killed, a girl in knightly armor appears and saves him. Whereas this marks the start of Shirou’s journey as a Master alongside his heroic Servant in a battle where their fates are intertwined.
