Caroline Walker is investigating the abduction of two twin girls, and in the course of this investigation she finds herself embroiled in a nightmare that is hard to imagine. One day she woke up in an abandoned old mansion, naked, lying in the bathtub, and connected to strange medical devices. What happened to her before this? How did she end up here? And how does all this relate to her investigation? Now you have to find out by playing as her.

The huge mansion is full of enemies, monsters that were clearly people and participated in experiments. Plus, the entire mansion looks like a maze, filled with puzzles, riddles and secrets. Well, now you have to explore it up and down to find answers to all the questions.

The game inherits the traditional mechanics of the genre and games that were once popular, like RE 3, but it also offers a lot of new things. Firstly, here you will find an eerie atmosphere in unprecedented realism. Secondly, jump scares and terrible scenes in which you can get pretty scared are also present. And thirdly, the game offers an experience that cannot be found in any other horror game.

At the heart of everything here is exploration of the mansion and survival. But if everything is clear with research, then in terms of survival, everything is more complicated. You will have to not just solve puzzles, but constantly think about your actions and calculate all the steps, fight monsters, run away from them when it is tactically advantageous, look for items that will help you survive, combine different mechanisms, open locked doors. In other words, you will have to do a lot of things.

And in Tormented Souls you will find a very unexpected ending and intriguing events that will change your understanding of the story even at the moment when you are close to the ending.
